Your Gym Might Be Worth Less Than You Think—and the Problem Could Be YOU

Quick test: could you disappear for two weeks and your gym wouldn't miss a beat? Sales still closing, complaints handled, bills paid, staff managed?

If your phone would be ringing before you reached the airport, you've got owner dependence — and when you go to sell, buyers will price it in.

Buyers don't buy your job. A buyer is paying for income that keeps coming after you're gone. Put two gyms side by side with the same revenue and earnings: the one with a real manager, trained salespeople, and written procedures wins. The one where the owner does everything forces the buyer to hire a replacement — and that cost comes straight out of what your numbers are really worth to them.

Read the full article — including how owner dependence costs you at closing, and the three-part fix to start 12–18 months before you sell.
